Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check availability and prices?
You will find an Availability & Prices tab on the main menu - simply click on that and you will see all available dates for each cottage, and the prices are below. Click on the date yoy'd like to arrive which will open a pop-up and once you've selected how many nights you'd like to stay the total cost of your holiday will be displayed.

What deposit will I have to pay?
We ask for just a £75 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.  The balance is then due 6 weeks before your stay.

How do I get the EYFS/ambulance crew discount?
Please see the EYFS Discount Scheme page where hopefully I have explained it all very well…

What time can I arrive and when do we have to leave?
Check in is via key safe so you are free to arrive any time after 3pm on the first day of your stay.  We ask that you leave by 10am on the last day of your holiday.  These times may be able to be extended outside of very busy periods - always worth asking and I will help if I can!

Do I need to bring towels and bedding?
Nope. We’ll provide all bedding (except for travel cots) and two towels per person - leaving you more room to pack essentials like wine….! You will need to bring swimming/beach towels though.

Are dogs allowed in the bedrooms?
Of course they are! It’s your dog’s holiday too, and if they’re used to being in your lap and in the bedroom with you then that’s what they must be able to do!  However, not all of our guests bring dogs and we want things to be lovely for everyone, so I’d be very grateful if you could bring suitable throw covers for the furniture/beds if your dog will be using them. Thanks.

Is the swimming pool open all the time?
We are so lucky to have such a fabulous facility!  The pool is open daily all year round from 9am - 9pm.  There are no staff though, so please keep safe and don’t swim alone or let children in without an adult. I’m afraid we can’t let dogs in either.

Can I bring a BBQ?
Our estate insurance doesn’t allow BBQ’s or fire pits at the cottages I’m afraid, but there is a brick built BBQ down by the lake and also some wooden picnic tables. On a warm summer evening this is a lovely spot to have a sausage! We simply ask that you clear up the BBQ afterwards once it's cool enough to safely do so (a disposable BBQ is a sensible option here!).

Can I pay in instalments?
Usually yes!  It involves quite a bit of admin, so we ask that it’s a minimum of £100 a time and you’ll need to email me to arrange this on info@devonbolthole.com.
