Fishing

We are primarily a rural, peaceful little holiday escape with the added bonus of a small fishing lake for the sole use of the handful of guests staying on the estate.

Our lake is about an acre in size and is situated close to the swimming pool and within some open land.  It’s very well stocked, mainly with carp.  They’re not huge, with 8-9lbs being a fairly regular catch.

We don’t have rules regarding bait etc, and you are free to fish as much as you please at no extra cost.  We simply ask that you are respectful of other guests and the welfare of the fish.

To be completely honest it’s probably not challenging or exciting enough for experienced fishermen, but is absolutely ideal for those just learning or wanting to teach children as it’s actually quite difficult NOT to catch a fish!

For those with more skill, there’s a large fishery called Anglers Paradise within a few minutes drive which offer day tickets to a huge range of lakes (and sell bait if you have very sensibly chosen not to travel to us with a box of maggots in the car 🤣)
